Roy DeForest and Beth Van Hoesen with African Tribal Masks from the collection of Jaap Bongers.(street view gallery by night)

This celebration is about the addition of 900+ sq.ft. of new exhibit space to the ArtObjectGallery. What makes this especially exciting is the fact that the Gallery will now have street front exposure. Many visitors over the years told me that they had no idea that the gallery existed despite being frequent visitors to Japantown. This additional space will increase the possibilities in terms both scale of the projects, number of participating artists, and also allow for several exhibits to run concurrently. The combination of street front exposure and more space has the potential to draw more visitors to the gallery to view the art of those artists who trust me with their works.
I hope you can join us in celebrating this new stage in the life of the ArtObjectGallery. - ken matsumoto

the ArtObjectGallery is located in the Heart of the Historic Japantown San Jose. The gallery opened its doors in April of 2000 and has been serving artists and visual art enthusiasts by providing a venue where their work is seen by members of their own community as well as the members of larger Bay Area Arts community.

You are cordially invited to showcase your creations at the 3rd Annual Archangel Holiday Boutique this October!

Dozens of local artists will join together to host the shopping event of the season and raise funds for Child Advocates of Silicon Valley, in support of over 1,600 foster children in Santa Clara County. Child Advocates of Silicon Valley recruits, trains, and supports Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASAs are volunteers who provide emotional and educational support as one-on-one mentors to those foster children who are experiencing turbulent times due to no fault of their own. With the support of dedicated CASAs, these children find hope and happiness in their lives and as a result, many of teenagers manage to graduate from high school and even go on to attain a higher education.
